If you opt to take a private car or a taxi, note that there is a fee to enter the island and you can expect to pay around $2-$7 USD (per vehicle) and there is also an application surcharge that applies to any taxi that takes you off Sentosa. So if you are trying avoid higher fees you may want to check out some of the other options to get there.

MRT: One of the most common, cheapest and quickest ways to get to Sentosa is to just take the Singapore MRT Service. The MRT service is a railway line that will get you to Sentosa Island from pretty much anywhere in Singapore. To avail the MRT service, just get a metro map and pinpoint the closest MRT station to where you are staying. That station can in turn take you to either the North-East Line or the Harbourfront Station, both of which will take you directly to Sentosa. If you find yourself at VivoCity Mall, you are already at the Harbourfront Station – simply follow the signs and you can head off to Sentosa right from the mall itself.

Sentosa Express: The Sentosa Express is also another great and convenient option. The lines to board the train can be quite long on holidays and weekends, however, so you may have to wait a while. Additionally, there are four main pick-up stations – you can expect to find a convenient area to board your train pretty much anywhere in Singapore. There are 5-8 minute boarding operations, so if you miss a train, worry not – you can be sure there is another following close behind. The four stations can be found at: the Waterfront Station, VivoCity, Beach Station and Imbiah.

Walking: If you prefer, you could opt to take a leisurely stroll across the Sentosa Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is unique – it was created to give you a feel of a garden-like atmosphere, so that if feels like you are on a nature hike and not just a city stroll. There are also several different lookout points where you can take in luxury liners, the beach and bay and some of the most beautiful sunsets. You are required to pay a $1 fee at one of the ticket counters (open between 9 am  and 1 pm). The boardwalk is open to enjoy 24 hours a day.
